Aim of the position:
Managing and organizing the equipment, administration and work-activities of the
employees within the gut room in order to minimize the cost while maximizing the
return. Also provide a disciplined, clean and safe environment in which people can
perform at their best.

Job responsibilities:
1. Managing people (a team of approx 20 employees)
Organizing, directing and controlling the gut room in order to achieve the desired
result. Main key tasks are: deciding on the number of employees required each
day, deciding which employee performs which task, training new employees,
giving clear instructions, motivating employees, encouraging their personal
development and ensuring a disciplined working environment.

2. Processing, planning
Organizing, directing and controlling all relevant activities related to the
processing and shipping of pluck products, both physically and administratively,
in accordance with the specified instructions and within the framework of existing
procedures and regulations. This includes basic maintenance on equipment and
organizing maintenance by third parties

3. Optimization
Identifying opportunities for improvement within the overall work process (for
example in the field of ergonomics, clothing and hygiene), making improvement
proposals and implementing them after approval.

4. Maintaining relationships
Maintaining appropriate contacts with slaughterhouse, transport companies and
the various departments of Van Hessen etc. involved. This in particular comes
down to advice, troubleshooting and information transfer.

5. Reporting and administration
The recording and reporting of the input (labor, utilities, auxiliaries, raw material
etc) and output (yield and quality of various products, shipping documents etc)
(for example in yield reports, QC reports and timesheets) in particular to make
cost and time spent per action transparent. Responsible for correct
administration for EU approvals, HACCP and other legal requirements

Job requirements:
• Medium level vocational education
• At least 5 years experience in managing teams on an operational level in a

• Preferrably: experience in meat processing industry
• Skills using MS Office applications (especially Outlook, Word and Excel).
